The Native Plant Center at Westchester Community College was established in 1998 and soon became the first national affiliate of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, Texas. Its mission - to educate the community about the environmental necessity, economic value and natural beauty of native plants in the Northeast – has changed the landscape throughout Westchester and the tri-state region by becoming a valuable resource to elected leaders and the public at large. In the past year, more than 5,000 individuals have been educated on native plants through its community outreach efforts.Because of your support The NPC can maintain a website, produce a semi-annual newsletter, maintain demonstration gardens at Westchester Community College, and print literature for distribution at numerous events. Please check out The NPC website at http://nativeplantcenter.org for more information.
